“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Matthew 6:19–21
The camp verse. Everything the children do this week comes back to it.
What the week teaches
Four days, four lessons. Each morning the whole camp takes one idea, and the groups carry it through the day. Every day has its own dress-up theme too, so pack for it.
Day 1. Heavenly Treasure
“Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”Matthew 6:21
Our greatest treasure is the Creator of every treasure in heaven and on earth. When God is that treasure, life has meaning.
Dress-up themeDays of creation
Day 2. Godly Connections
“Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.”James 4:8
God does not give you the people you want. He gives you the people you need: to help you, to teach you, to love you, and to make you who you were meant to be.
Dress-up themePairs day (come as a matching pair or group)
Day 3. Moral Compass
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”Matthew 22:37
True values are the ones that bring you closer to God.
Dress-up themeTime travel (past and future)
Day 4. Communication
“Let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.”James 1:19–20
Good communication turns confusion into understanding.
